Everything here is made meaningful and beautiful through a connection to both family and design. Zha Zha was cut from the same cloth as a wedding photographer in the generation before: her father. This shaped her presence and creativity, and has directly influenced the way (delicately iconic and candid) she documents multicultural weddings, elopements, and nonprofit events.
I remember watching my father in his own work as a wedding photographer. I was amazed and eager to cultivate a similar sense of storytelling — to freely compose and expertly adjust.
One day, he handed me a camera of my own. Those early years inspired a deep love for photography. Surrounded by art, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in graphic design with a minor in art history. Since then, I’ve traveled the world (mostly to see art, also to experience serendipity) and continue to be influenced by traditional design, age-old paintings, and cinematic perspectives.
I create quietly and steadily with an approach formed by over a decade in this line of work. I’m drawn to the storied history of framed museum pieces, but I’m also intrigued by the relationships and moments of life, and how we can truthfully document them.
